Purple gromwell

The purple gromwell (Buglossoides purpurocaerulea) stands out mainly because of its very intense blue flowers. The stems are hairy with stiff bristles and the leaves are lanceolate. This beautiful and rare plant can be found near Varese on Monte Orsa and Monte Monarco, in Switzerland on Monte S. Giorgio and Monte S. Salvatore and on Lake Como near Sala Comacina.
